Vaginal Relaxation

Vaginal Relaxation occurs as a result of pregnancy, vaginal deliveries, age and sometimes just genetic predisposition. The pelvic floor is made up of muscle, fascia, ligaments and skin. All of these structures can stretch and “relax” for many reasons.

The difference between “relaxation” and “prolapse” is the difference between “stretching” and “tearing.” Symptoms of vaginal relaxation is sagging and gaping of the vaginal and vulvar structures. Some women experience air entering or exiting the vagina with intercourse or exercise resulting in embarrassing noises. Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation was specifically developed to address this relaxation.

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation®

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® (LVR®) is a one-two hour outpatient surgical procedure designed to enhance sexual gratification and improve pelvic floor support. LVR® is the modification of a gynecological surgical procedure used for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse. Our laser techniques result in gentle precision procedures with controlled accuracy that results in relatively bloodless surgery. Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® (LVR®) will effectively enhance vaginal muscle tone, strength, and control. It will also effectively decrease the internal and external vaginal diameters as well as build up and strengthen the perineal body. In vaginal relaxation, the muscles are relaxed and have poor tone, strength, and control. The internal and external diameters increase. The muscles of the perineum are weak and poorly supported. Under these circumstances, the vagina is no longer at its optimum physiological state. LVR® was designed to restore normal vaginal tone who for whatever reason lack an overall optimum architectural integrity of the vagina.
